Ghassan Zaqtan is one of the most prominent Palestinian poets writing today. His tenth collection, Like a Straw Bird It Follows Me (Yale University Press), is his first translated work in English. He is also a novelist, and lives in Ramallah.
Fady Joudah (translator)
Fady Joudah's first poetry collection, The Earth in the Attic, received the 2007 Yale Younger Poets Prize, and his translation of Mahmoud Darwish's If I Were Another (Farrar, Straus & Giroux) received the 2010 PEN USA Literary Award for Translation. Copper Canyon Press will publish his second collection, Alight, in 2013. He lives in Houston, where he is a practicing physician of internal medicine.
