"Randy Blasing's new collection of love poems, Sweet Crude, is both celebratory and wistful, playing out the passages of memory and desire that inscribe a life. In his superbly delicate yet conversational pentameter lines, he allows a formal calm to underlie the nuances of every poem. The many loves that inhabit this book are like the poems themselves—luminous in their jeweled aspects and crafted to be enduring."
