John Talbot's earlier book of poems, The Well-Tempered Tantrum, appeared in 2004. His poems, criticism, and translations appear regularly in leading American and British journals. A classics scholar, he publishes widely on ancient and modern literary relations, most recently in The Oxford History of Classical Reception in English Literature. He teaches at Brigham Young University.

“John Talbot braids classical learning with snarky modernity.”
