This book was adopted from a flea market orphanage.
In my home this book and I enjoyed many hours together -
I fed it as it fed me, but today - a sale
    day, this book sits
among others as it waits and watches hungrily in my garage,
searching for its birth mother.

This book is a mortician, contracted years ago
by my grandmother to extract life's moisture
and preserve, interred between pages,
bright colored leaves, some violets, and one
four leaf clover.
