Linda Goettina - Los Angeles, CA (USA):

April 01, 2001:
This may be the last book that I read. Every night when
I turn out the light it is with no sure certainty that
I will see day. The last book that I read is the
one on the top of the bedside pile.

April 02, 2001:
This book I read in the bathtub, even though my mother told
    me no!.
Now its pages are splotched and soggy and smell like dirty wet
    dog.
I couldn't leave it on dry land with a heroine in distress.
Now I'm distressed at the damage done.
But the heroine survives!

April 03, 2001:
This book falls open to the very same page.
I flip it shut. Drop it down. There it is.
Page 222! What brings me back everytime?
My thumb and forefinger pressing into the gutter of the binding?
Caught in a moment of passion so great that I've left my
imprint on the book? Will others see what caught my interest and
brought me back time after time? Page twotwentytwo.
