Victoria Free Presser - White Plains, NY (USA):

April 03, 2001:
This is the trilogy I read aloud, nightly for months into years,
to both my sons, and then wished forlornly for another child. It
takes you through a world of danger, but always in the company
of friends. I'd like to read it again, but think I will
be lonely reading it to myself.
This is the book that saved me from the misery of a
summer in Las Vegas, taking me back a century and a continent
to a temperate New England lake. I memorized great handfuls of it
while frying in the desert sun.
