Wendy Breuer - Berkeley, California (USA):

April 24, 2001:
Finally, I’m old enough to understand this book.
This book sits at the top of the precarious pile of books
    that my father keeps on his bedside table. He’s rereading it for
    the fifth time.
The cat and I stayed on the couch until we finished this
    book; there are gray and white cat hairs on every page; you
    shouldn’t borrow it from me if you are allergic.
In this book (the novel I’ve been writing in my head for
    twenty years) the resemblance of any characters to persons living or dead
    is purely intentional on the part of the author; movie rights have
    already been sold and several well known actors are vying for the
    juicy part.
When I read this book, I lived alone in a studio apartment
    and could keep on reading as long as I wanted; I lived
    on chocolate cookies and milk for a week until it was finished;
    there are still milk stains on some of the pages.
