Fairfax, VA (August 8, 2025) – Poetry Daily is awarded a 2026 ArtsFairfax Operating Support Grant to further its mission to promote contemporary poets, presses, and journals — featuring a new poem each and every day.
Poetry Daily is among 56 ArtsFairfax Operating Support Grant recipients based in Fairfax County, the City of Fairfax, and the City of Falls Church.
“Support from ArtsFairfax means so much for a small, fierce arts organization,” said Gregg Wilhelm, executive director of the Daily Poetry Association, which publishes Poetry Daily. “It indicates that the work we do is appreciated by the people we serve in Fairfax County and beyond. Operating support means even more because it goes directly to making what we do, and the infrastructure required to do it, possible.”

Operating Support Grants are foundational to the stability of local nonprofit arts and culture organizations. By distributing Fairfax County funds for the basic operation of arts programs, services, and facilities local nonprofits provide to Fairfax County, the City of Fairfax, and the City of Falls Church, ArtsFairfax ensures the vitality of the arts in our community.
Poetry Daily will continue to connect readers to contemporary poetry through our Daily Poem, What Sparks Poetry essay series, and our educational outreach program Poetry Alive! program in the Fairfax County Juvenile Detention Center. Additionally, we will revamp sections of our website, including our Hot off the Presses book feature and our news feed.
