When the phone rang I knew it would be you, so I picked up and hur-riedly said hello it’s you you how are you? I was in a rush and so were you so then we both ended up laughing. I said how are you doing and you said how are you doing, as if that’s all we had to say. It’s been years. (Well right now I’m watching a French film, Un homme et une femme.) How’s your man? He’s sleeping, this is what I do every day when I get home, watch him sleep. What’s his name again? Can’t say it out loud it’ll wake him up. He’s like me personality wise but he has more in common with you, that’s why he’s so boring. At night there are 1000 Airplanes on the Roof. I can’t believe we’re talking about this thousands of miles apart. In the came country but so far away. That so-and-so strapped a mike to her glasses and used her head as a drum, I should be doing that too. When I wake up in the middle of the night I tell myself this is art, this is art’s nebulous meaning and limitations. Don’t say that, you believe in what you do, you don’t have a choice. If you didn’t believe in it how could we ever have met. (Are we going to see each other?) I don’t know maybe when both of us know what we’re doing we can swap locations. Yes let’s. How are you doing. Take care. September 14th
